Jimmie Dale Gilmore (innate May 6, 1945) is a country singer, songwriter, recording creative person & producer, presently sleep in Austin, Texas.
Biography
Gilmore was natural around Amarillo, Texas and raised in the West Texas town of Lubbock, Texas. His earliest musical influence was a honky tonk brand of country music that his father played as a bar-band guitar player. In the 1950s, he was exposed to the emerging rock & roll of more West Texans like Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison. He was deeply influenced in the 1960s by the likes of The Beatles and Bob Dylan and the folk music and blues revival in that decade.
By using Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, Gilmore founded The Flatlanders. A class action has been performing off and on since 1972. A band's number one recording design, from either a early 1970s, was barely distributed. It has since been acknowledged, across Rounder's 1991 reissue, (More the Legend Than the Band) as a milestone of progressive, alternative country. A tercet friends continued to reunite for occasional Flatlanders performances, & around Can of 2002 released a long-awaited watch-higher album, Currently Once more, in Just released West records.
Gilmore spent great deal of the Seventies around an ashram in Denver, Colorado, studying metaphysics. In the 1980s, he moved to Austin. His 1st solo album, Fair & Square, was freed inside 1988.
